After the death of China's first emperor, Qinshihuang, the Qin Dynasty fell into rapid decline as the vast empire reverted to warlordism. The struggle for sovereignty eventually came down to a battle of wits and weapons between Xiang Yu, Overlord of the Western Chu (Xichu Bawang), and Liu Bang, the King of Han, in what came to be called the Chu-Han contention.
The Conqueror's story breathes life into the fabled historical figures. Evergreen hero Adam Cheng aptly portrays the tumultuous epic life of peasant-turned-emperor Liu Bang, who would eventually found Han Dynasty. Kwong Wa cuts a charismatic portrait of the ruthless, yet tragic Xiang Yu.
